2023 National Electric Safety Code (NESC) Update and Refresher Course 
March 29, 2023 (W) 9-3:30pm

The 2023 NESC Edition has been published by IEEE and contains a number of changes that Electric Cooperatives need to know about. The NESC sets the standards for utility overhead, underground and substation design. In addition, the code addresses working rules for employers and employees. Minnesota statute adopts the most recent edition of the NESC as the minimum standards within the state.   

Several of the MN Co-op Engineering staff’s have joined forces again to present these changes and to conduct a review of the existing Rules within the Code.  

This course is designed for all Engineering personnel that are responsible for line design, operations personnel that need to understand clearances and working rules, and consultants. The course is a one day refresher on the NESC with emphasis on changes from the last edition.  

Participants should bring a copy of the 2023 NESC with them to the course. If you do not have a current edition of the code handbook, you can order it at:

Continuing Education Credits (CEUs)
