Communications Specialist

 Status: Full-Time | Non-exempt, Union, Hourly, Overtime Eligible

Beltrami Electric Cooperative is seeking a highly skilled, motivated and exceptional communicator.

This position is responsible for managing the cooperative's communications, public relations, community engagement, and member outreach programs while supporting crisis communication efforts and key organizational events.

Key Responsibilities

• Communications and content development
• Newsletter and publication management
• Public relations and media relations
• Event planning and coordination
• Community outreach and member engagement
• Crisis and emergency communications
• Research and implementation of new public relations initiatives
• Relationship building and public speaking

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or certificate from college or technical school in communications, public relations, marketing or similar related field required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least one to two years’ experience preferred.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal teams, members, and community.

Compensation/Benefits

The starting hourly range for this position is $29.44 - $42.05 The final compensation offered will be based on the candidates’ qualifications, experience and skill level. Beltrami Electric Cooperative’s benefit package includes paid holidays, PTO and medical, dental, disability, life, FSA, HSA, and 401K.
