A Day in the Life
- Energy management and installation: Design, install, inspect, and maintain load control and energy management equipment following NEC, NESC, and ECE standards. Assemble, program, and install metering and load control devices to ensure reliability and member satisfaction.
- Member and contractor support: Educate members, builders, and contractors on energy efficiency programs, distributed energy, rates, and available incentives. Conduct site assessments, provide equipment recommendations, and perform heat loss analysis for system sizing.
- Maintenance and troubleshooting: Perform electrical maintenance and repairs at ECE facilities, substations, and member sites. Diagnose and correct issues with load management and distributed energy systems, ensuring safety and compliance with codes.
- Collaboration and documentation: Work closely with other departments to coordinate system upgrades and ensure accurate documentation of permits, inspections, and installations.
What You’ll Need
- Education & Experience: A two-year technical degree plus a minimum of three years of electrical installation experience, or a combination of education and experience.
- Credentials: Valid Driver’s License and Journeyman Level Electrical License. Preferred credentials include HVAC experience and a strong technology background with hands-on experience in online program management platforms.
- Skills: Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and safety practices. Skilled in diagnosing and repairing load management systems, distributed energy set ups, and related technologies. Proficient in using load management software, metering equipment, and control devices to verify system performance. Experienced in reading building plans, performing heat loss analysis, and recommending system sizing. Comfortable using Microsoft 365, scheduling programs, and equipment tracking software.
Additional Details - Schedule: Onsite, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., based at the Braham, MN Operations North building.
- Hybrid Option: This position is onsite and does not offer a hybrid work arrangement.
