We are seeking a Facilities Technician to support the safe, reliable, and professional operation of Cooperative buildings and grounds.
Position Summary
The Facilities Technician performs preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs, and general upkeep of Cooperative facilities and grounds. This role ensures buildings and environments are safe, functional, compliant, and well-presented for employees, members, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs on building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical infrastructure
- Maintain facility equipment such as generators, solar systems, and warehouse systems
- Ensure clean, safe, and functional interior spaces, including offices and meeting areas
- Maintain grounds including mowing, landscaping, and snow removal
- Support facility safety systems, including fire protection, alarms, and emergency preparedness resources
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized services and projects
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and work performed
- Support facility readiness for daily operations, meetings, and events
- Respond to facility needs during outages, weather events, or emergencies
Qualifications
- Combination of education and experience equivalent to 3+ years in facilities maintenance or a related field
- Working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, general maintenance)
- Ability to safely operate tools and grounds maintenance equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Basic to intermediate computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
- Valid driver’s license with ability to maintain insurability
- Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment screening which may include a physical examination, drug screening, background check, reference check, and motor vehicle record check as applicable to the position.
Work Schedule & Flexibility
- Standard schedule is Monday – Friday, 7:00a – 3:30p
- Flexibility required for snow removal, facility readiness, and occasional response to building or system needs outside standard hours
LREC offers a generous compensation package including fully paid single coverage health insurance premium, company 401k match and substantial paid time off, including front loading accrual. This position’s starting wage range, based on previous experience, is $26.00 - $30.00/hour with a training progression period and wage adjustments to conclude over 2 years. Job offer rates are determined based on the candidate’s specific education, experience, knowledge, skills, and in alignment with market data.
