Operations Division Manager
Steele-Waseca Cooperative Electric (SWCE) is accepting applications for a full-time Operations Division Manager. The position is under the direction of the General Manager and has the overall responsibility for the Operations Division of SWCE, including overseeing and supervising all Operations functions, along with safety, engineering, substations, distribution, materials management, metering, and communications mediums.
Job duties include providing high quality leadership, communication, and supervision; responsible for the training, delegation, and accountability of all direct reports; promotes uniform standards by adopting department policy, record keeping, and compliance; responsible for the development and control of long- and short-range system planning, design and electrical distribution; keeps abreast of current events, state-of-the-art technology and information that may affect the Cooperative and/or electric utilities in general; assists the General Manager with review of Board policies; supports the goals of the Cooperative; serves as an active and engaged member of the management team; performs all responsibilities in accordance with prudent utility practices, and in accordance with SWCE Policies and Operating Procedures, Electrical Code, RUS Standards, Minnesota State Laws, and OSHA Regulations; prepares annual budget for Operations, Engineering, and Materials Departments; coordinates Safety Rules and Procedures with the Safety Coordinator; assists the Safety Coordinator with the development and maintenance of accident investigation procedures and ensures proper response is taken in the event of all incidents and accidents.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience; two years or more experience in electric utility operations; basic knowledge of the national electric safety code, and the national electric code, as well as knowledge of OSHA and EPA guidelines and practices; a valid driver’s license, basic ability with Excel worksheets and word processors, and basic computer knowledge, basic math and English language abilities.
